This position requires the machinist to use manual as well as program, set-up and operate CNC equipment to assist the Mechanical Design/R&D group and Fabrication group with projects and production of parts. Department: Manufacturing Indirect Employment Type: Full Time Location: Liberty, SC Workplace type: Onsite Compensation: $28.00 - $35.00 / hour Reporting To: Fabrication COE Manager Responsibilities
Ability to write and edit G-Code offline or at machine Have basic mill and lathe experience CAD experience, preferably Solidworks Generate programs for Mills and Dual Spindle lathe using Mastercam Manage tooling selection for Milling Centers and Turning Center Learn processes and generate programs for CNC Laser welding Works closely with Engineering on the design and planning of projects Participate in process development and approval exercises for projects Keep work area neat and clean Prerequisites and Requirements
Ability to pay attention to detail and follow instructions Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications Good math skills Proven proficiency in CNC programming & machining Knowledge of tooling equipment Good attendance record High school diploma or equivalent Completion of, or current enrollment in a Trade School for related subject Full body movement Close mental and visual attention to detail Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities Strong communication skills Willingness to accept new challenges and be flexible Ability to lift up to 60 pounds Exposure to dust, oils, heat, cold, high noise, and vibrations Ability to work with a team in both manufacturing and research areas Benefits
