Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications. Must Have

Bachelor's Degree and 5 years of relevant exempt experience Master’s Degree and 3 years of relevant professional experience Ph.D. and 0 years of experience Newport News Shipbuilding requires a Bachelor’s Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program Nice to Have

The Undersea Systems group is responsible for concept design, development and execution of programs and projects to integrate advanced systems and payloads on submarines and other platforms The candidate will participate in the development and integration of advanced systems related to maritime applications including submarine systems and sub-sea warfare systems The candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to work with both government and industry teams to achieve project objectives Desired Knowledge/Experience

Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) / Digital Engineering (DE) SysML modeling, CAMEO applications, or other MBSE modeling software Functional and Logical Architectures Requirements Development and Management Experience working within a team, collecting and organizing multiple contributions Significant interest in learning from others Why HII
