Cyber Engineer – Top Secret Clearance | Charleston, SC
Join Cambridge International Systems, Inc. as a Cyber Engineer to support operations in Charleston, SC. This is a full-time position requiring an active DoD Top Secret clearance. This role may be subject to the Service Contract Labor Standards Act (SCLS) / Service Contract Act (SCA).
What You’ll Do
Design, implement, and maintain cybersecurity solutions to strengthen cyber defense capabilities and ensure the resilience and integrity of enterprise networks and information systems.
Continuously monitor and assess system vulnerabilities, perform risk analysis, and develop mitigation strategies or remediation plans in alignment with cybersecurity best practices and compliance standards.
Establish and enforce security controls to protect sensitive digital assets and IT infrastructure, ensuring compliance with DoD cybersecurity frameworks; respond to security incidents by containing threats, restoring safeguards, and preparing incident reports as required.
Support ongoing cyber operations and system improvements by staying current with emerging threats, tools, and technologies; perform additional duties as assigned by management to meet evolving mission requirements.
What You’ll Bring
Required Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or Mathematics with a concentration in computer science or equivalent
Three (3) years of notable experience preparing, implementing, and ensuring compliance with cybersecurity policy, including Assessment and Authorization requirements
Technical Expertise :
Hands-on experience deploying enterprise-level cybersecurity tools to support advanced threat detection, threat hunting, and continuous monitoring across complex network environments
Proficient in implementing network inspection tools and packet capture systems to enhance network visibility, support forensic analysis, and strengthen cyber defense capabilities
Skilled in IT equipment installation with emphasis on precise and professional cable management
Certifications :
Dependent on PWS tasking, certified as Information Assurance Management (IAM) or Information Assurance Technical (IAT) or Information Assurance System Architect and Engineer (IASAE) Level I per DoD 8570
Must have a current and active DoD Top Secret security clearance
Proficient with modern IT tools and infrastructure technologies
Travel & Passport
Up to 20% travel, CONUS and OCONUS may be required; some weeklong trips possible
Must have an active passport to support OCONUS travel and/or living requirements
Work Environment
Compliance with vaccination and medical requirements for TDY/OCONUS roles as per Vaccine Recommendations by AOR | Health.mil
Office setting in Charleston, SC with standard desk/computer work and potential on-site movement
May travel short distances to offices/conference rooms and buildings on site
