Provide Transfusion Medicine/Apheresis consults and procedures. Provide blood bank and blood donor center physician coverage. Clinical service, teaching and research in Transfusion Medicine with opportunities for collaboration with the Department of Pediatrics, Division of Hematology/Oncology and the Children’s Center for Cancer and Blood Diseases. Contribute to translational research and education in alignment with department and institutional goals. Qualifications
MD, MD/PhD, or DO degree. California medical license upon hire. American Board of Pathology certification/eligibility in Blood Banking/Transfusion Medicine or significant clinical experience in transfusion medicine. Demonstrated excellence in clinical care, translational research, and education. Position Details
Open Rank; salary commensurate with qualifications, experience, and scholarly accomplishments. Annual base salary range: $300,000 to $450,000. Transfusion Medicine section includes: Transfusion Service (annual volume ~18,000 transfusions), Therapeutic Apheresis Services (≈550 cases, including stem cell harvests, extracorporeal photopheresis, plasma and red cell exchanges), Blood Donor Center (12,000 whole blood donors and 2,000 platelet donors).
