Mission Serve as the senior technical lead for enterprise network engineering in support of DTRA missions. Design, secure, and sustain resilient IP networks across multi-classification environments to enable global operations, data transport, and interagency collaboration. Responsibilities Architect, implement, and sustain LAN/WAN/MPLS/SDWAN for multi-site, multi-classification networks Lead network modernization, tech refresh, and lifecycle management aligned to DoD standards and Zero Trust objectives Perform Tier III engineering and escalation for complex routing, switching, encryption, and transport issues Plan and execute changes via formal change control, including ASIs with rollback and validation criteria Engineer segmentation and policy enforcement, integrating firewalls, VPN, IDS/IPS, and microsegmentation Optimize performance and availability with QoS, load balancing, path resiliency, and capacity planning Produce and maintain engineering artifacts: HLD/LLD, EIPs, SOPs, BoMs, diagrams, and AARs Conduct root cause analysis and problem management with measurable corrective actions Integrate monitoring and telemetry for proactive detection and SLA reporting Support RMF-aligned hardening, STIG compliance, IAVM remediation, and continuous monitoring in coordination with cybersecurity teams Mentor junior engineers and coordinate with vendors, OEMs, and government stakeholders Qualifications

8+ years enterprise network engineering with recent DoD mission support Expert-level routing and switching: BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, VLANs, VXLAN, EVPN, STP, QoS Secure transport and edge: IPsec, SSL/TLS VPN, GRE, DMVPN, NAT/PAT, TACACS+/RADIUS High availability and scale: HSRP/VRRP, ECMP, link aggregation, GLBP, load balancers Hands-on with major platforms: Cisco IOS/XE/NXOS, Juniper Junos, Palo Alto, Fortinet, F5 Network visibility and management: SNMP/NETCONF, syslog, NetFlow/IPFIX, SIEM integration Proven change, incident, and problem management in ITSM frameworks Strong documentation, briefing, and stakeholder engagement skills Active TS/SCI clearance Maintain an IAT level II certification or higher SMS is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
