Norlen Inc, a Ryerson family of companies, is looking to hire an EHS Coordinator. As an Environmental Health and Safety Coordinator (EHS), you are responsible for implementing, auditing and ensuring compliance with all Ryerson EHS, State and Federal policies. Through daily walk throughs, active engagement and participation in the Safety Council, this individual will ensure employee compliance and that safety checks are being performed.

Responsibilities
Review, implement, organize, present, and audit all Ryerson EHS policies as well as state and federal environmental compliance.
Oversee employee policy compliance which includes but is not limited to; reviewing site specific policies for accuracies, entering near misses, daily safety checks and walkthroughs, reviewing and following through on action items.
Schedule any repairs of safety equipment as needed to uphold safety standards and ensure proper maintenance.
Site evaluations to monitor and sample air and storm water as well as paint emissions reports.
Maintain RCRA (Resource Conservation & Recovery Act) to ensure proper disposal of chemicals.
Schedule and maintain various inspections such as fire alarms, fire extinguishers, emergency lighting, etc.
Ensure all monthly site-specific training is prepared and completed.
Conduct reviews of LOTO (Lock Out Tag Out) - verification of all authorized users along with review of all written programs.
Conduct forklift training for new hires and maintain a log to ensure recertifications are complete in a timely manner.

Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required
BA/BS degree in environment, health and safety or related field highly preferred
Minimum 3-5 years of EHS experience in a manufacturing environment
Knowledge of OSHA/ISO policies
Certified in CPR/First Aid
Experience or certificate in conducting job safety analysis, accident analysis
Experience with OSHA record keeping
Certified Forklift & crane trainer considered an asset
