Job Summary Provide clients with expertise in the field of Commercial Lines insurance and deliver high-quality service to maintain long-term relationships. Develop and manage existing and new customers through appropriate propositions, ethical sales methods, and internal collaboration to optimize service quality, business growth, and customer satisfaction. Prepare applications, specifications, and marketing strategies for new business and renewals of assigned clients with supervision and approval from the Department VP/Manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Manage and consult on an assigned book of business: negotiate terms, conditions, coverage limits, and pricing with carriers and wholesalers
Collaborate with the Claims Department on relevant claims for assigned clients
Ensure renewal timelines are adhered to and create renewal timelines for new business
Maintain accurate information (exposures, driver information, reporting forms, endorsements, and other details) to avoid E&O claims
Maintain follow-up systems to ensure policies, endorsements, and other information are received as requested
Mentor and respond to needs from Coordinators and Account Managers as appropriate
Build and maintain strong relationships with carriers and clients through regular contact and client visits; keep clients informed of industry trends and regulatory issues
Review client contracts to ensure compliance with insurance requirements
Independently answer coverage questions
Follow up with clients for updated information (exposures, driver information, forms, endorsements, etc.)
Coordinate audits, dividends, and retro adjustments
Assist clients with claim reporting and follow-up when needed
Recommend new and additional coverages and obtain quotes
Use online carrier tools to develop quotations
Prepare pre-renewal information for client review and discuss with the Sales Team
Work on special projects as assigned
Monitor the financial status of accounts, collect premiums, and adhere to agency collection policies
Initiate sales processes and develop client relationships
Review prospective new clients’ policies and develop accurate information for submissions and analysis
Prepare applications for quotation and obtain updated renewal information; market 120 days out
Prepare and present prospect proposals solo or with the Sales Team
Review, quote, and deliver renewal policies with or without the Sales Team
Renew, retain, and service existing accounts with direct client communications
Travel as needed to client visits, company meetings, and producer meetings
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Excellent written communication; ability to interpret information and present data clearly
Self-confident and able to make independent decisions
Ability to interact with a variety of people and personalities
Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Calm, courteous, and professional demeanor
EPIC agency management experience desired
Attention to detail, good judgment, and problem resolution
Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively
Willingness to work overtime as necessary
Strong organizational and time management skills; prioritization and planning of work activities
Customer service orientation and ability to handle difficult situations
Interpersonal skills and ability to maintain confidentiality
Teamwork and collaboration to build a positive team environment
Professionalism and integrity in all interactions
Judgment, motivation, and persistence in overcoming obstacles
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree preferred; high school diploma or equivalent required with additional training/education preferred
Typically more than 10 years of Commercial Lines Insurance experience
Proficient in Word and Excel
Professional insurance designation required (CIC, CISR, CPCU, CRM, AAI, etc.)
Agency Management system experience required; EPIC experience highly desired
Account Revenue size $50k+
Certificates, Licenses, Registration
P&C Insurance License required upon hire

The base salary range for this position is $100,000–$132,000, determined by experience, credentials, education, certifications, and location. This role may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
