We are working with a growing insurance group seeking to add an
Assistant Controller
to their finance leadership team. This onsite role in Dallas is ideal for someone with a strong background in statutory reporting, GAAP, audit management, and team leadership. Responsibilities
Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring accuracy in GAAP and statutory financials. Lead and develop a team of accounting professionals. Oversee internal controls and prepare for audits (internal and external). Handle regulatory filings, including NAIC submissions and other compliance requirements. Collaborate with actuarial, tax, and cross-functional teams to ensure transparency and strategic alignment. Serve as a primary contact for external auditors and regulatory agencies. Support financial analysis and special projects as needed. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. 5-10+ years of experience in P&C insurance accounting or financial reporting. At least 3 years in a managerial leadership role. Strong knowledge of GAAP and STAT reporting. Experience with enterprise systems like SAP, Oracle, or similar. Excellent communication skills, comfortable with senior stakeholders.
