Overview
JOB STATEMENT:
The Assistant Controller will support the Controller in managing the company’s accounting operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in financial reporting. This role will oversee day-to-day accounting functions, assist with month-end and year-end close, and help implement internal controls and process improvements. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities
Lead and manage the daily operations of the accounting team, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and fixed assets. Supervises, trains, and develops the accounting team, ensuring they have the resources and support to perform their duties effectively. Support the Controller with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. Oversee month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting. Assist with preparation and review of financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis. Support annual audits, tax filings, and regulatory reporting. Develop, document, and enforce accounting policies and internal controls. Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy. Serve as a key liaison between accounting and other departments, ensuring financial practices support overall business goals. Perform other job-related duties as assigned. Job Requirements
Education/Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CPA candidate preferred). 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory responsibilities. Proficiency with ERP/accounting systems and advanced Excel skills. Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities. Strong communication skills and ability to partner with both finance and non-finance colleagues. High attention to detail, integrity, and confidentiality. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
