Job 1: Senior Conservation Planner The Land Conservation and Planning program offers an exciting opportunity in land conservation planning. The position is for a Senior Conservation Planner in the Wildlife and Habitat Management section of the Division of Habitat and Species Conservation of FWC, supervising three planners to complete management plans. Responsibilities: Supervise and manage direct reports. Coordinate the development, editing, updating, and review of land management plans. Develop reports, templates, schedules, timelines, and project assignments for LCP planners. Attend, supervise, and facilitate Management Advisory Group meetings, workshops, and public hearings. Requirements: High school diploma and seven years of experience in a biological or planning field, or a bachelor’s degree with three years of professional experience. Strong leadership skills and ability to manage multifaceted projects. Knowledge of computer software applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, GIS, and databases. Job 2: Field Technician The North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission is seeking a field technician for the 5th and final winter field season of the NC Bird Atlas. The position will be based in the NCBA Mountain Ecoregion. Responsibilities: Conduct auditory and visual bird surveys and code breeding behaviors following Atlas protocols. Work independently and with a small team in remote areas. Travel and work in variable weather conditions. Requirements: Ability to identify North Carolina breeding birds by sight and sound. At least one season of field experience. Valid driver’s license and good driving record. Job 3: Watershed Restoration Coordinator The Powder Basin Watershed Council seeks a full-time Watershed Restoration Coordinator to work with enthusiastic and experienced staff to develop, plan, implement, and monitor ecosystem restoration projects. Responsibilities: Build collaborative relationships with landowners, funding entities, and local/state/federal agencies. Develop and oversee project work plans, timelines, budgets, and implementation. Coordinate work plans with project teams and identify funding sources. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent training in a related field, plus one year of related work experience. Ability to effectively manage and coordinate multi-organizational projects.
