Adjunct Instructor in Theatre Arts
to deliver dynamic, high-quality instruction in a student-centered environment. This part-time position involves teaching assigned courses, engaging students through innovative learning strategies, and fostering a supportive and inclusive classroom experience. Under general direction, this position is responsible for delivering high-quality, engaging courses. This role includes developing course materials, fostering a positive learning environment, and providing timely and constructive feedback to students. Utilize various tools and technologies to enhance student learning and ensure accessibility and inclusivity in the classroom. Specific Duties and Responsibilities
Instruct assigned classes; grade all quizzes, tests, and written assignments. Assign midterm and final grades and deliver grades and grade justification sheets. Maintain regularly scheduled office hours to meet with students. Maintain a safe and effective classroom environment. Adhere to all adjunct faculty training and procedural guidelines as expressed by college administration. Complete all other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skill Requirements
Masters or doctorate degree from a regionally accredited institution in Theatre Arts / Performing Arts, or a Masters or doctorate degree with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in Theatre Arts / Performing Arts. High school and/or college level theatre teaching experience; preferred. Knowledge and experience in acting terminology/techniques and theatre history. Excellent communication skills both oral and written. Proven teaching skills with the ability to convey basic concepts and theories practically and comprehensibly. Computer literacy and experience using technology in courses, with a willingness to apply innovative approaches. Meet the credentialing requirements for the Southern Association for Colleges and Schools (SACS). Physical Demands
This position requires sitting and standing for extended periods, presenting oral lectures/demonstrations, walking, bending, lifting, reaching, stooping, and occasionally carrying items over 25 pounds. Manual dexterity is needed to operate standard office equipment. Employees are expected to follow safety standards while employed. Additional Details
