This is a restricted position, funded by the State Revolving Loan Fund 10% Set Aside Grant for a fiscal year period ending June 30, 2025, but renewable annually. Availability of funding is reviewed before the grant expiration date and periodically thereafter. Continued employment is contingent on the continued availability of funds. Performs technical and operational analyses as assigned in the office with an emphasis on day-to-day activities. Critical duties include: Performs technical evaluations of waterworks Surveillance of waterworks Manages databases Conducts routine facility inspections as assigned Writes technical reports Provides technical assistance to facility operators Investigates routine complaints Drafts violation notices This position serves as the surface water treatment subject matter expert for the field office. May assist in oversight of a small geographic region. Most activities are handled independently with supervisory review of non-routine or larger projects. Minimum Qualifications

Ability to pass a pre-appointment criminal record check and background investigation. Working knowledge of sanitary engineering pertaining to drinking water (advanced math, water chemistry, physics, microbiology, hydraulics, hydrology, design of drinking water facilities, drinking water laws, regulations, public health objectives and practices, etc.). Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in technical writing. Ability to address/conduct meetings and hearings. Ability to read, interpret, and independently apply laws, regulations, and policies. Bachelor's or Advanced Degree in Engineering or related engineering technology (Civil, Sanitary, Environmental, or Chemical Engineer). Additional Considerations

Certification as an Engineer in Training or Licensure as a Class 1 or Class 2 Waterworks Operator by the Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation or other out-of-state equivalent licensure. Special Instructions
