Rutgers University . Entry-level postdoc position available for NIH-funded laboratory in the Department of Genetics at Rutgers. The laboratory studies processes relevant to human reproduction using

C. elegans

and mouse systems, employing genetics, molecular biology, biochemistry, cell biology, and microscopy/imaging. A qualified candidate will be capable of working independently and will also manage, train, and schedule hourly student workers and undergraduate researchers. The candidate will communicate with the PI regularly to review project performance, status, and deadlines; perform independent data review and reporting for routine and future research; maintain an accurate and detailed lab notebook; conduct genetic, cell, and molecular biology experiments; and oversee undergraduate research projects. Standard laboratory work includes C. elegans genetic analysis, biochemical experiments, CRISPR and recombinant DNA techniques, phenotypic analysis, epifluorescence and confocal microscopy, high-throughput genomics, mouse handling, oocyte manipulation, and mouse genetic analysis. The position may involve presenting data, creating figures, and drafting manuscripts. Responsibilities

Perform lab work in genetics, molecular biology, biochemistry, cell biology, and imaging related to reproduction using C. elegans and mouse systems. Independently carry out genetic, cellular, and molecular biology experiments and analyses. Manage, train, and supervise hourly student workers and undergraduate researchers; coordinate protocols and lab operations. Communicate with the principal investigator on project performance, status, and deadlines; review data and report findings. Maintain accurate and detailed lab notebooks; draft figures and manuscripts as needed. Work with CRISPR and recombinant DNA techniques; perform phenotypic analyses; conduct epifluorescence and confocal microscopy; engage in high-throughput genomics; perform mouse handling and oocyte manipulation; and contribute to mouse genetic analyses.
