Description Facility Management Corporation, known as “FMC Ice Sports,” was formed in 1992 to deliver high-quality ice sport facility management and operations, as well as ice-based programs that benefit our communities and promote interest in both hockey and skating. We have established a record of quality operations and have grown to be the largest operator of public arenas in the United States. FMC operates 25 public ice-skating arenas across Massachusetts in partnership with the Commonwealth, municipalities, and educational institutions. Position Overview FMC is seeking Lead Instructors to work under the supervision of each program's Supervisor. These roles involve instructing groups and managing lessons for FMC's learn-to-skate and learn-to-play programs. Responsibilities include engaging with children and adults, demonstrating skating techniques, and performing customer service duties. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Utilize customer service skills to manage interactions effectively. Educate the public on safe ice activities. Evaluate students' skating levels for proper placement. Complete program documentation such as attendance and recommendations. Enforce rink policies and procedures. Maintain a clean and safe environment for patrons and staff. Complete tasks assigned by the Program Supervisor timely. Attend scheduled staff meetings. Perform other related duties as assigned. This is a part-time position, with programs primarily in the afternoons, evenings, and weekends. Schedule may vary. Requirements Preferred Skills and Qualifications: Experience assisting or teaching skating classes is preferred. Proficiency in ice skating is required. Figure skaters should have passed ISI Freestyle 4 or USFS Freeskate 4+. Hockey players should have several years of league play. Compensation Pay varies based on experience and qualifications. Training rate: $20-30/hr. Post-training rate: $22-32/hr. Non-instructor work: $17-18/hr. All offers are contingent upon passing background checks, including CORI, SORI, and criminal history checks.
