The school is accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation and offers the Doctor of Dental Surgery, Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene, Master of Science in Oral and Craniofacial Sciences degrees and participates as a primary doctoral discipline in the UMKC Natural Sciences PhD program.
Our program is the only public dental school in Missouri. Our alumni account for roughly half of all practicing dentists in Missouri.
Job Description
The University of Missouri-Kansas City, School of Dentistry seeks a faculty member for a tenure-eligible Assistant or Associate Professor or ranked non-tenure-track Assistant or Associate Clinical Professor in the Department of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics. Specific responsibilities of this position include administration of the pre-doctoral orthodontic education program, provision of instruction for pre-doctoral dental students and orthodontic residents in the classroom, laboratory, and clinic. Qualifications
All applicants must have a certificate from a CODA-accredited Advanced Education Residency Program in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics or equivalent, a DDS/DMD or equivalent with eligibility for Missouri Dental Faculty licensure is required. To be considered for a tenure-eligible faculty position, applicants must present: an active research schema and demonstrated success or potential for success in obtaining external funding as a Principal Investigator or Co-Investigator, prior experience or demonstrated ability to teach didactic and clinical courses in an advanced dental education program, and evidence of service to and/or participation in organizations which work to advance dental education and research.
