The City offers a

$16,000

signing bonus for lateral police officers, paid in three installments: $5,000 after the first paycheck, $5,000 after successful field training, and $6,000 after probation. This bonus is in addition to competitive wages. Position: Lateral Police Officer

Requirements at testing: Must be an experienced police officer with a valid police certification per Washington State Criminal Justice Training Center standards. Salary and Incentives

Base salary with additional pay for education, physical fitness, longevity, and specialty roles such as Detective, Corporal, Range Master, Crime Prevention Officer, Traffic Officer, Special Operations Team, Field Training Officer, and School Resource Officer. Includes patrol, criminal investigation, law enforcement, responding to emergencies, conducting investigations, court testimony, civil process enforcement, training, compliance inspections, and supervisory duties. Qualifications

High school diploma or GED, with two years of college (preferably in police science or criminal justice). Successful completion of written and oral tests, background checks, and possession of a valid Washington driver’s license. Ability to learn law enforcement principles, handle resistance physically, and communicate effectively. Certifications and Disqualifiers
