City Colleges of Chicago . **Kennedy-King College** The Part-Time Tutor bridges the gap between the college and the needs of the student. This position helps students make academic progress while promoting independent learning and self-reliance. Responsibilities
Provides academic assistance to assigned tutees, either in a group or individually. Establishes liaison with the instructor and works under the instructor’s direction to assist the student. Attends periodic training sessions to increase competency in working with students. Maintains records on each student, including follow-up and assessments. Schedules tutoring appointments. Provides evaluations and reports as required. Helps students develop positive attitudes toward learning and motivation. Assists students in understanding subject material and improving academic skills. Helps students develop study skills necessary for success. Establishes rapport with students. Assists in designing and implementing class projects. Qualifications
Completion of a bachelor’s degree or higher in Mathematics. Consideration for candidates with technical certifications relevant to the subject. Excellent communication skills and ability to work with diverse students. Self-directed with timely completion of assignments. The salary range is $20.69 - $23.87 based on education level per 1600 CBA. This position is represented by 1600 Union. We are an equal opportunity employer.
