The MC Dean Critical Power department provides our customers with safe and effective maintenance and installation of UPS, battery, and other critical power equipment. This position requires an individual keen on learning new applications, capable of critical thinking, customer service, and problem solving, as well as working independently after adequate training.

Responsibilities

Learn and understand topics including critical power and battery systems, LOTO, safety, and troubleshooting.

Install battery systems, take electrical readings, and test circuit continuity using appropriate equipment.

Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate causes of breakdowns and correct problems.

Generate tickets to ensure equipment maintenance and repair are completed according to OEM standards.

Travel up to 75% of the time.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED with 8+ years of experience.

Possession of an acceptable driving record, as the position may require ongoing or intermittent use of a company vehicle.

Candidate Expectations

Experience with a Microsoft Windows environment.

Ability to adapt to a changing environment and workload.

Strong oral and written communication skills.

Demonstrated time management and organizational skills to meet deadlines and quality objectives.

Proficiency with smart devices (smartphones, tablets, etc.) and comfort using multiple web-based applications.

Commitment to excellence and producing high-quality work.

Reliability in reporting to work on time, collaborating with colleagues, and maintaining a safe work environment.

Desired Qualifications

Experience with customer service and satisfaction.

NFPA 70e (current version).

OSHA 10/30 certification.

Battery OEM certification.

Physical and Other Abilities

Ability to lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds regularly, following proper safety protocols.

Ability to relocate a 12-foot stepladder without assistance.

Work at various heights up to 60 feet, climbing and maintaining balance on scaffolds, lifts, and ladders.

Perform physical tasks such as walking, climbing, lifting, and reaching overhead routinely.

Good vision (corrected if necessary), color vision, hearing, and communication skills in English.

Recognize potential problems without necessarily solving them.

Apply general rules to specific problems and synthesize information to draw conclusions.
