Overview
25-26 SY - Part-time Spanish Teacher at St. Viator Elementary School, Old Irving Park, VIC. II. The role supports preschool–8th grade students in their language development within a Catholic school in the Archdiocese of Chicago.
General Responsibilities
Teach and act in accordance with Catholic doctrinal and moral teachings of the Catholic Church
Serve as a role model for the religious formation of students and as a representative of the Archbishop of Chicago and the Catholic Church
Know, teach, and act consistently with the religious and educational mission, philosophy, objectives, and policies of the Catholic school
Complete Catholic identity formation training and other required professional development
Lead and/or participate in religious instruction, ceremonies, rituals or other religious activities as directed
Communicate regularly with students, parents/guardians, colleagues and the principal
Participate in professional development programs required by the Archdiocese of Chicago and/or the local school/parish
Perform teaching duties as assigned by the principal
Attend required faculty and staff meetings; cooperate with the principal and staff on school projects
Maintain accurate student attendance and academic records
Maintain a safe, orderly, and respectful learning environment
Participate in annual performance reviews; maintain confidentiality regarding school matters
Represent the school/parish positively at events and in the community
Additional tasks as assigned by the principal
Requirements and Preferences
Practicing Catholic (preferred; required for religion teachers)
Compliance with safe environment requirements
Bachelor’s degree
Valid state licensure for the grade/subject area (preferred, not required)
Catholic identity formation training (to be completed)

Compensation and Benefits The Archdiocese of Chicago offers a comprehensive total rewards package, including competitive compensation and benefit programs. Salary ranges are: - Lay: $37,000 – $67,000 per year - Religious: $34,000 – $61,000 per year Pay within the salary range is based on factors including education, qualifications, experience, skills, location, and organizational needs.
