Overview
History Adjunct at Inside Higher Ed. Salary: $5,000 - $6,000 per 5-credit class. Responsibilities
Teach in-person classes on the Bremerton campus, and distance classes as needed. Teach college-level courses in accordance with the college catalog, schedule of classes, course outlines, course syllabi, and departmental guidelines. Provide quality teaching including related preparation and grading. Provide class syllabi to students enrolled in classes and to the division office as requested. Maintain accurate records of students and complete forms as required. May include evening instruction and/or instruction at satellite campuses. Punctual communication with students, faculty, and staff. Perform other related duties as assigned and/or required. Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications Master's degree in History from an accredited College or University. Previous teaching experience. Ability to teach U.S. history and/or World History courses. Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications. Desired Qualifications College-level teaching experience. Additional Considerations Successful applicants will effectively teach and impart excitement and enthusiasm in teaching courses. Demonstrate a commitment to teaching students with diverse backgrounds and to equity, accessibility, and inclusive instructional practices. Communicate effectively in writing and orally and collaborate with colleagues, staff, and students. Incorporate technology and learning management systems into course delivery. Demonstrate appreciation of diversity and cultural awareness. Additional Information
We are unable to sponsor visas. Only candidates authorized to work in the United States will be considered. Faculty must submit official, unopened transcripts to Human Resources within 30 days of employment. This is an adjunct faculty position contracted on a quarterly basis. Salary is per quarter. A collective bargaining agreement exists; the position is covered by the Association for Higher Education (AHE). Evening and/or weekend classes, instruction at satellite campuses, and travel to clinical sites may be part of the instructional load. Adjuncts are open continuously and reviewed quarterly; applicants remain active for 12 months from the application date. Adjuncts are not eligible for benefits on initial hire; after meeting a 50% load for two consecutive quarters, certain benefits may apply.
