This effort includes advancing the entire quantum computing technology stack and exploring applications to make quantum broadly usable and accessible. Your role and responsibilities
IBM Quantum is hiring a Research Scientist to contribute to our efforts in characterizing the performance of our quantum processors. We are looking for those with strong experimental skill-sets who are proficient in a combination of lab work, numerical simulation, programming, and data analysis. The main focus will be on improving device design, understanding the underlying physics of quantum gates, characterizing quantum systems, and developing benchmarks for system development. The candidate should have a track record of original research in related areas and passion for solving complex problems. Required education
Master's Degree
Preferred Education
Doctorate Degree Required technical and professional expertise
2 years of experience in quantum computing or related subject areas of physics, electrical engineering, or materials science 2 years of experience in superconducting quantum devices (or related quantum devices), microwave engineering, and/or quantum characterization and verification Preferred Technical And Professional Experience
At least 4 years of experience in quantum computing and information theory Proven record of research and accomplishment (e.g., publications) Programming experience (Python preferred) Interface analog microwave test environment with computer test system (digital-to-analog conversion, analog-to-digital conversion, python coding) IBM is proud to be an equal-opportunity employer.
