Overview
Senior Civil/Structural Analyst at Amentum. Join a team supporting NASA programs, including ground systems, flight hardware processing, and launch operations at Kennedy Space Center in Florida. Responsibilities
Provide technical engineering direction for the Civil/Structural Analysis department including design, analysis, implementation, and operational support. Perform conceptual design, revisions to existing designs, and/or modifications to structures or Ground Support Equipment (GSE) depending on the project. Conduct structural analysis and hand calculations to ensure systems/facilities operate safely and comply with NASA, federal, and industry codes/standards. Prepare design/analysis documentation for engineering packages, including Design Analysis Reports (DAR). Review and comment on engineering models, methodologies, and deliverables from colleagues within or outside the Civil/Structural Analysis department. Troubleshoot equipment/system anomalies using data and testing results; guide technicians in repairs and operations per procedures. Interface with NASA customers and other stakeholders, supporting or presenting at Engineering Review Boards. Manage tasks to be completed on schedule and within budget to satisfy the customer; support construction activities to validate drawings and contract documents. Provide mentorship to less experienced engineers when appropriate. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Engineering or technical equivalent from an accredited institution; typically 10+ years of experience and/or an advanced degree. Mid-level engineering position with 10+ years of relevant structural design/analysis experience in Civil/Structural Engineering. Comprehensive knowledge of AISC, ASCE, AWS, ASME, SAE, and other relevant industry standards. Proficiency with GT STRUDL; experience with STAAD, SAP2000, SAFE, NX Nastran, and/or MSC Nastran is desired. Ability to perform complex hand calculations; capable of applying engineering concepts and advanced analysis techniques to deliver working solutions. Strong technical writing, communication, presentation, and customer interface skills; able to work effectively in a team. Highly organized, flexible, and able to prioritize multiple tasks; self-motivated and able to work independently. Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, if necessary. Willingness to climb stairs and ladders; wear required PPE; work may involve extended periods of standing or sitting and moving in confined spaces. Work Environment
Work must be conducted in a safe manner per NASA and company safety standards; may require work inside and outside at the test complex and travel to different on-site locations. Other Requirements
U.S. Citizenship or legal permanent residency may be required; ability to travel, including airline travel; valid driver’s license and CDL with endorsements may be required. Must pass a federal background investigation and comply with drug-free workplace requirements. Locations and Benefits
