A $1B+ global security and technology company is seeking a highly skilled Manager, Government Accounting to help expand and internalize its government contracting capabilities. This is a high-visibility individual contributor role, reporting directly to the Senior Director of Finance, with frequent interaction across finance leadership and key business stakeholders. As the organization takes on more complex and larger-scale government contracts, this role will be critical in ensuring compliance with FAR, CAS, and DFARS regulations, overseeing DCAA/DCMA audits, and providing strategic guidance on cost structures and pricing models. Key Responsibilities: Evaluate and improve the internal controls and processes related to government compliance Support and lead responses to DCAA/DCMA audits and RFIs Advise sales and program teams on compliant cost structures for new bids Ensure accurate reporting, indirect cost allocation, and cost structure alignment between commercial and government business units Provide ongoing interpretation of CAS and FAR clauses and coordinate compliance across business functions Interface with government agencies, audit teams, and internal leadership on contract accounting matters Qualifications: Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s a plus) Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, including at least 5 years supporting government contracts governed by FAR, CAS, and CASB Disclosure Statements Strong experience with DCAA/DCMA interactions and audits Familiarity with government billing practices and indirect rate development Eligibility to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Security Clearance Preferred Skills: Experience with Deltek Costpoint and/or Microsoft Dynamics 365 Strong Excel and financial modeling skills Confident communicator with the ability to work independently and advise leadership Defense industry background preferred Why Join: Work within a global company that combines the agility of a smaller business with the resources of a large public organization Help build and shape a growing federal contracts function from the ground up Gain visibility across executive leadership and the Board Competitive compensation and benefits
