We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounting Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing daily accounting tasks, including managing accounts payable and receivable, preparing and sending invoices, maintaining accurate financial records via QuickBooks Online for multiple entities and clients, and performing bank and account reconciliations. This role requires strong organizational skills and an ability to manage multiple financial projects efficiently. This is a flexible position expected to work between 24 - 40 hours per week. It is suitable for a range of candidates - from recent graduates with an accounting concentration to experienced professionals seeking a more flexible role.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Client Invoicing: Prepare and send fee invoices to clients and limited partners. Accounts Payable and Receivable: Oversee accounts payable and receivable, maintaining clear records and ensuring that payments are collected and made on time. QuickBooks Online Management: Regular entry and management of financial data in QuickBooks Online for multiple companies/subsidiaries and clients of Castellan. Bank and Account Reconciliations: Perform regular bank reconciliations as well as reconcile other financial accounts to maintain accuracy in financial statements. Fund Accounting: Manage and track fund allocations accurately, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and standards. Bill Pay: Manage client billing and payments, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and client accounts. Excel Proficiency: Utilize advanced Excel skills to analyze financial data and create reports. Upload data into various accounting systems using Excel templates. Data Management: Upload and manage data within various systems using Excel templates, ensuring data integrity and accuracy. Records Management: Ensure account statements are downloaded and stored in an organized manner. Maintain and organize electronic records for all accounting processes. Maintain SOS filings for all Castellan companies and subsidiaries. QUALIFICATIONS
Experience: Prior accounting experience required, with a strong working knowledge of accounting principles, procedures, and practices. TECHNICAL SKILLS
Experience in QuickBooks Online is required. Microsoft Excel skills are required. Experience with Expensify is highly desirable. ANALYTICAL SKILLS
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data. COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. ORGANIZATIONAL SKILLS
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines effectively. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Attention to detail and an aptitude for numbers. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential financial information with integrity, discretion, and in compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.
