Position Summary:

The EH&S Manager will be the sole responsible person for the development, implementation, and management of the Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) programs. This position is responsible for ensuring company compliance with all local, state, and federal environmental health and safety regulations, while promoting a safe and environmentally sustainable workplace. Collaborating closely with all company managers and leaders, the EH&S manager develops company safety practices, creating and managing all safety protocols, training, documentation, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives. This is an onsite role.

Must travel to manufacturing and installation worksites regularly. Responsibilities

Compliance Management: Ensure the company complies with all applicable environmental, health, and safety regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA, local regulatory agencies). Monitor changes in legislation and implement necessary updates to internal practices. Consult with local regulatory agencies on local environmental quality standards, industrial practices, and new developments to ensure proper permitting and practices are followed. Participate in preparation of responses to external audits by providing subject matter expertise, data and/or explanation of data. Represent the Company during inspections and any incidents. Prepare and submit required reports to regulatory agencies. Conduct regular risk assessments and hazard analyses to identify potential environmental, health, and safety risks. Develop and implement corrective action plans to address any identified safety hazards or non-compliance issues. Partner with department leaders to develop and implement solutions and work processes to negate risks (e.g., industrial hygiene, safety, regulatory, environmental). Training & Development: Develop and deliver EH&S training programs for employees at all levels of the company to ensure compliance with OSHA, applicable laws and regulations and company policies, procedures and standards. Promote a culture of safety, encouraging proactive safety behaviors and continuous learning. Collaborate with department leaders to implement safety routines and training to maintain compliance with all regulatory programs. Develop and maintain recordkeeping programs required to report incidents, claims and plant health/safety/environmental activity to appropriate organizations. Investigate all incidents and lead other company personnel through investigations and after-action reviews to identify root causes of injuries, noncompliance, and violations. Prepare reports and documentation for internal and external stakeholders as needed. Track and analyze incident trends to identify opportunities for improvement. Manage waste disposal, recycling programs, and emissions monitoring to ensure environmental compliance. Oversee hazardous materials handling and storage, ensuring safe practices and regulatory adherence. Coordinate with third-party vendors for waste disposal and environmental monitoring. Health & Safety Audits: Conduct regular internal safety audits to assess compliance with safety standards and recommend improvements. Lead external audits and inspections, ensuring corrective actions are implemented and documented promptly. In collaboration with department leaders, develop and maintain an effective health & safety inspection and monitoring program. Documentation & Reporting: Develop and maintain accurate EH&S record-keeping system, including inspection reports, safety data, training logs, and compliance documentation. Compile and present EH&S performance reports to management. Maintain an up-to-date emergency response plan and ensure its communication to all employees. Perform other related duties as required. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: BS in Engineering, Safety, or Industrial Hygiene related discipline and/or relevant experience and education. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in EH&S, preferably in manufacturing or related industry subject to OSHA and environmental regulatory compliance. Certification in EH&S (e.g., OSHA 30-hour, Certified Safety Professional (CSP), or similar) preferred. Demonstrated leadership capabilities and influence across an organization. Knowledge of local, state or federal environmental, health and safety regulations and how to access resources (e.g., OSHA, EPA, L&I, regulatory agencies, consulting firms, web-based information). Proven ability to develop and deliver EH&S training programs. Experience in incident investigation, risk assessment, and environmental sustainability programs. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks effectively. Ability to travel to multiple locations as needed, up to 35% of the time.
