Overview
A leading organization in the manufacturing sector is seeking a Cost Accounting Manager. This opportunity is ideal for candidates who thrive in dynamic environments and bring a strong background in standard costing, variance analysis, and financial reporting under US GAAP.
Responsibilities
Maintain and update standard costs for materials, labor, and overhead.
Lead the annual cost roll and assist in periodic updates.
Validate and monitor BOMs, routings, and cost drivers within the ERP system.
Oversee transactional flows in purchasing, production, and inventory.
Collaborate with IT and Operations to resolve system-related cost issues.
Ensure inventory is valued in accordance with US GAAP.
Reconcile subledger and GL for raw materials, WIP, and finished goods.
Support cycle counts and physical inventory audits.
Analyze material, labor, and overhead variances and provide root cause analysis.
Deliver timely and actionable financial insights to leadership.
Conduct cost modeling, margin, and CVP analysis.
Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations.
Execute month-end and year-end close processes.
Prepare GAAP-compliant financial statements.
Assist with audit and tax compliance, including state/local filings.
Support continuous improvement of accounting processes and controls.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. (CPA or CMA preferred)
4–7 years of progressive cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
Strong grasp of standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory valuation
Proficient in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, JDE, NetSuite, etc.)
Advanced Excel skills (PivotTables, VLOOKUP, Power Query, etc.)
Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
Key Competencies
In-depth knowledge of US GAAP and compliance requirements
Financial analysis, forecasting, and reporting expertise
Root cause analysis and scenario modeling
Strong decision-making and process improvement capabilities
Experience with tax filings and audit support
Compensation Compensation:
$125,000-$140,000 per year
