GEICO is seeking a Finance Data Specialist to support the build out of a Finance Data Warehouse/Lake by partnering with Finance and Technology teams to redesign how they use their technologies in managing GEICO\u2019s business. The role requires a strong functional and technical Finance Systems background to drive capture, transformation, and utilization of Finance data to meet business goals. The Staff Engineer, Finance Data Specialist will report to the Senior Manager of Finance Data & Analytics and will provide solutions to build out, maintain, and support a Finance Data repository to support FP&A processing and analytics, while supporting the Finance organization\u2019s need for Finance data. The role collaborates with Finance and Technology leaders to establish a central, reconciled source of truth for all financial transactions, enabling Revenue and Expense analytics and supporting FP&A planning/budgeting, financial reporting, and governance.

Responsibilities

Leverage strong functional and technical systems expertise to drive toward the right solution for Finance Engage in cross-functional collaboration throughout the software lifecycle Lead design sessions to ensure systems are well designed, efficient, and meet business expectations Collaborate with FP&A, Controllers, Financial Reporting, Finance QA & Systems, Data Engineering, and Finance Technology leaders to meet organizational goals Develop a vision and technology roadmap to build out a Finance Data Lake/Warehouse Understand finance data lakes/marts and data processing using ETL/ELT tools (e.g., Informatica, DBT) Design, develop, implement, and maintain data ingestion and transformation solutions Work with cloud data solutions (Delta Lake, Iceberg, Hudi, Snowflake, Redshift or equivalent) Develop roadmaps for Revenue and Expense analytics solutions Influence stakeholders and align discussions with business needs Support governance and control frameworks for SOX and audit reviews Translate business and functional specifications into technical specifications Share best practices and drive process improvements across teams Qualifications

15+ years of Finance Systems experience with ERP solutions (e.g., Oracle, Workday, SAP, or PeopleSoft) 3+ years implementing and supporting FP&A applications (preferred) 3+ years in Finance Data Lake/Warehouse/Mart with financial reporting tools Strong understanding of Dimensional Data Modeling Experience with ETL/ELT tools (Informatica, DBT, etc.) Strong SQL skills and ability to write, debug, and optimize queries and ETL jobs Experience with Finance systems (PeopleSoft, Oracle EBS/Cloud, Workday, SAP) Finance domain expertise to translate processes into system solutions Understanding of FP&A budgeting, planning, and forecasting Experience implementing or supporting Revenue/Expense analytics via Power BI, Tableau, etc. Understanding of accounting processes and reporting expectations Ability to communicate with users across Technology and Finance Knowledge of project management methodologies and best practices Strong problem-solving abilities and ability to work in fast-paced environments Experience with SDLC and ability to work independently and in teams Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business Administration, or equivalent Annual Salary
