Accountant Supervisor (Accounts Receivable)
Proclinical is seeking an Accountant Supervisor (Accounts Receivable) for a top global generics pharmaceutical company based in New Jersey. This is a permanent role based onsite at the companys US HQ in New Jersey.
Responsibilities
Lead the General Accounting team and supervise day-to-day accounting activities within the Finance function.
Ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles, corporate policies, taxation, internal and external audits.
Manage monthly book close and preparation of reports in support of the financial statements.
Lead a team of 2 accountants/senior accountants in general accounting, accounts payable and accounts receivable to ensure accurate recording (e.g., daily cash receipts, pricing adjustment requests).
Perform month-end close activities, provide MIS data, monitor GTN, approve rebate and SSA claims, calculate FTS accrual and actual processing, track OS&D and disputes, and recoveries from customers.
Conduct monthly reconciliations of major Balance Sheet accounts and all sub-ledger balances (AR, AP, fixed assets, inventory valuation, etc.).
Serve as primary lead for internal and external audits, preparing schedules and documentation for auditors.
Assess system requirements and suggest process improvements or changes to enhance productivity and controls.
Monitor actual results against budgets and track variances.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA or CPA track a plus).
46 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry.
Prior experience with generic pharmaceutical manufacturers or distributors is a major plus.
Experience with legal agreements.
Proven track record in financial accounting and controllership functions for at least 2 years.
Willingness to take full responsibility to ensure compliance with corporate schedules.
Ability to work independently, take ownership of responsibilities, and meet tight deadlines.
Hands-on experience in GL and sub-ledgers in SAP accounting systems.
