What You'll Do
Engineering Consulting Services (ECS) is seeking a highly motivated Environmental Staff Project Manager I to join our team. This role performs specific field tasks assigned per project by more senior staff. Your growth in responsibility will come with time and experience. This work will be field-based with limited office work as experience is gained. An ideal candidate presents a positive customer service attitude and understanding of ECS Core Values.
Key Responsibilities
Interact and collaborate with staff members on a variety of projects Attend project meetings with senior staff and assist with resolutions to technical and administrative problems Begin to learn about marketing and business development with a focus on building your client database and maintaining regular client contacts Begin to learn how to manage project budgets and the need for change orders. Prepare invoices and assist with collection efforts Schedule, train, and oversee subordinate staff members Prioritize tasks to meet project deadlines, consulting with your supervisor for daily task prioritization Develop management capabilities of environmental projects including technical support, with supervisory input as needed Assist with proposal preparations for training and development Prepare environmental reports, perform analysis, and collaborate with senior staff to provide recommendations Initiate project setup and implementation under supervision Understand sample collection, preparation, preservation, sample hold times, and laboratory submission regulations and guidelines Understand federal, state, and local environmental regulations and their implications Document site observations clearly and submit daily reports Communicate site condition changes to supervisors and implement investigation changes as directed Work with senior staff to connect field observations and sample results to report findings Assist on groundwater, soil investigations, and media sampling Perform boring and test pit layouts, evaluate site access Assist with remediation system installation, operation, and maintenance Assist with underground storage tank assessments Perform other duties as assigned What We're Looking For
Qualifications Bachelor's and/or Master's of Science in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or relevant engineering/science degree No experience needed Valid driver’s license required if driving for ECS Skills and Abilities Basic knowledge of environmental principles and applications Understanding of permitting processes and environmental regulations Interest in project management, consulting, and business development Ability to lift at least 40 pounds repeatedly and walk on uneven terrain
