Job Summary
We are committed to delivering world-class care to our youngest and most vulnerable patients. Our pediatric and neonatal intensive care units are staffed with highly trained professionals dedicated to innovation, compassion, and excellence. We are currently seeking an experienced Pediatric ECMO Registered Nurse to join our elite team.
The Pediatric ECMO RN is a specialized registered nurse who provides advanced life support to critically ill neonatal and pediatric patients requiring extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) therapy. This role involves managing complex ECMO systems, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and delivering expert nursing care in high-stakes clinical situations.
Responsibilities
Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot ECMO circuits and related life-support equipment. Provide direct nursing care to neonatal and pediatric patients on ECMO in the PICU or NICU setting. Collaborate with ECMO specialists, intensivists, perfusionists, and respiratory therapists to manage patient care plans. Participate in ECMO transport as needed (intra-hospital or inter-facility). Assist with cannulation and decannulation procedures. Document all patient care and ECMO activities thoroughly and accurately. Educate patients’ families and provide emotional support during critical care. Adhere to infection control protocols and safety standards.

Requirements
Current Registered Nurse license within State of practice. Minimum 2 years of experience as an ECMO Registered Nurse in a Pediatric or NICU setting. Current BLS and PALS certifications (ACLS preferred). Completion of an accredited ECMO training program. Strong knowledge of pediatric/neonatal anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology. Ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure situations. Excellent oral and written communication and team collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
CCRN (Pediatric or Neonatal) Certification Experience with ECMO transport protocols Experience in high-acuity Level III/IV NICU or Pediatric ICU
