The Multilingual Education Specialist supports the academic and linguistic success of Multilingual Learners by managing multilingual programs, coaching on sheltered instruction, and monitoring compliance for English Learners (ELs). Responsibilities include leading professional development on English Language Development (ELD), linguistic accommodations, and instructional practices, as well as providing ESL instruction to small groups of newcomers/beginners for 1-2 periods daily. The role involves parent communication and planning Title III community events. Reporting to the School Leader, this position follows a 12-month calendar. Goals include achieving high ratings for KTX schools, meeting TELPAS growth targets, improving student achievement in reading and math, and increasing teacher proficiency in sheltered instruction strategies. Key Responsibilities Use data to identify and support teachers improving EB achievement. Lead professional learning on sheltered instruction and linguistic best practices. Monitor and support teachers' instructional strategies. Support hiring and retention of multilingual staff. Complete LPACs and coordinate TELPAS assessments. Build relationships with EB students and families, including teaching ELD courses and facilitating community events. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. Knowledge of core subject areas. Texas Teacher Certification appropriate for the position, if applicable. Pass background check; fingerprinting fee applies. For Pre-K4 and Special Education positions, valid Texas certification required. Competencies Strong commitment to KIPP Texas mission and community. Proven success in helping students achieve academically. Willingness to extend school hours and engage in continuous learning. Additional Information KIPP is an equal opportunity employer, hiring without discrimination. Compensation & Benefits Starting salary is $60,600, with potential increases based on experience. Benefits include PTO, parental leave, health insurance, retirement plans, and additional incentives through the Teacher Career Pathway, which can add up to $15,000–$32,000 annually.
