Overview

Quinnipiac University's School of Nursing (SON) invites applicants who are dynamic clinicians and educators for a full-time 12-month clinical track faculty position. The successful candidate will be a doctorally-prepared Adult-Gerontology Primary Nurse Practitioner (AGPCNP) or Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) who will primarily teach in the SON’s AGPCNP program. The candidate will have experience as an academic nurse educator. Previous online teaching experience with nurse practitioner students is preferred. The candidate may also support the SON’s other masters and doctoral programs, as well as the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program.

Responsibilities

Teaching-intensive, clinical-track nursing faculty position, educating primarily graduate nurse practitioner students with a focus on the adult-gerontology primary care nurse practitioner program

Support curriculum development and evaluation

Flexibility to teach on campus, online, and in hybrid delivery formats

Serve as an academic faculty advisor and mentor

Engage in service to the school, university, and the profession

Possibility to engage in scholarly activities

Participate in faculty development

Engage in the School of Nursing’s strategic plan

Actively participate in the School of Nursing community

Education Requirements

Required: unencumbered APRN and RN licenses in Connecticut

Required: doctoral degree in nursing or a related field

Required: certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Family Nurse Practitioner

Qualifications

AGPCNP or FNP with significant adult primary care experience

Experience with curriculum development

Expertise in teaching nurse practitioner students

Evidence of effective online teaching

Service to profession or community

Proven ability to collaborate with individuals from varied backgrounds

About the School The School of Nursing serves a total of 1100 graduate and undergraduate students. The Center for Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences collaborates with all schools across campus to create interprofessional educational experiences. The North Haven, CT campus houses extensive simulation facilities and a comprehensive health sciences library. The school emphasizes holistic care within the nursing curriculum and offers traditional and accelerated programs at the baccalaureate level; online MSN and DNP programs are available.
