High-end apparel company in Los Angeles is looking for a sharp Accounting Manager to lead key areas of financial operations, including month-end close, inventory costing, and reporting. This is a high-impact role that reports directly to the Controller and partners closely with cross-functional teams across the company.
Responsibilities
Partner with operations to validate inventory movements and COGS Oversee reserves for excess and obsolete inventory Handle payroll, fixed assets, and sales & use tax compliance Support treasury activities and daily cash management Collaborate on system upgrades and automation initiatives Provide monthly departmental financials and contribute to ongoing process improvements Assist with audit prep, tax documentation, and ad hoc financial analysis Lead the month-end and year-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate reporting under GAAP Perform detailed balance sheet reconciliations and resolve variances Deliver monthly budget-to-actual variance analysis to senior leadership Own inventory accounting across raw materials, WIP, and finished goods Maintain and refine cost models within ERP systems Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred) 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in fashion, retail, or manufacturing Strong understanding of US GAAP and inventory/cost accounting ERP experience – ApparelMagic, QuickBooks, NetSuite highly desirable Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, modeling) Strong organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills Prior experience in wholesale and/or DTC business models a plus Compensation:
$110,000-$120,000 per year
