The Office of the District Attorney, Bronx County (“BXDA”), is committed to ensuring public safety and equal justice for over 1.4 million Bronx residents. BXDA focuses on assisting crime victims and ensuring fairness for defendants, maintaining a standard of excellence in representing the Bronx community.

We are seeking a Trial Preparation Assistant to support our Assistant District Attorneys (ADAs) with investigations and trial preparations in the Special Victims Division. Responsibilities include:

Following up on subpoenas and NYPD Discovery Requests.

Drafting and serving Orders to Produce, Writs of Habeas Corpus, and Motions.

Handling court-related pickups/drop-offs and obtaining certified documents.

Performing fieldwork, including traveling to agencies, hospitals, and courts.

Requesting and retrieving evidence for trials and submitting 911/Radio run requests.

Preparing letters and emails for Orders of Protection to witnesses, defense counsel, and legal staff.

Providing backup coverage for court clerks and front desk reception, as needed.

Assisting with other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

No formal education or experience requirements; ability to understand and follow simple instructions is necessary.

Must be able to communicate effectively in English.

Must have a valid NYS Driver's License with at least 2 years of experience.

Additional Information:

Eligible for federal and state loan forgiveness programs.

NYC residency required within 90 days of appointment unless certain conditions apply.
