Analytical Laboratory Leads
in
Environmental Chemistry
to support the EPA contract, the Environmental Services Assistance Team (ESAT) across the country. The team performs soil, water, air, waste, and tissue sample analysis for chemical contaminants, primarily supporting Superfund site assessment, remediation, and emergency response, as well as compliance under the Safe Drinking Water Act and the Clean Water Act. Responsibilities include sample receipt and tracking, equipment maintenance, safety inspections, inventory management, environmental compliance, field sampling, warehouse support, and analytical subcontracting. Locations : Denver, CO; Houston, TX; Kansas City, KS; Athens, GA; Chelmsford, MA; Edison, NJ; Corvallis, OR; Seattle, WA; Ft. Meade, MD; Chicago, IL. What You Will Do Supervise a team of 5-10 chemists and technicians providing sample analysis, quality assurance, and laboratory support. Provide technical oversight and input on work performed. Schedule, track, and report on assignments and work products. Engage in client contact and technical presentations. Ensure compliance with technical, quality, and safety standards. Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or related field. 8+ years of experience in organic/inorganic environmental sample analysis or management. 5+ years managing an environmental analysis group or similar laboratory. Proficiency with data acquisition, reporting, and LIMS. Experience in NELAC-certified, DOD, or DOE labs. Hands-on experience with GC, GC/MS, ICP, ICP/MS, LC/MS-MS, HPLC, or similar systems. US citizenship and ability to pass EPA background checks. Preferred Qualifications Advanced degree in chemistry. Experience with HRMS for dioxins and furans. Radiochemistry analysis and data validation following MARLAP guidance. Experience with SMO Portal, EXES, and LC/MS/MS for PFAS/PFOA.
