We are looking for a motivated, self-driven individual to augment our team and ongoing effort to provide a safety-minded culture and work environment for our employees at all times. The Safety Manager will be responsible for driving our safety culture and leading environmental health and safety initiatives throughout the company headquarters, as well as our affiliates. Note: This is an onsite position at our Detroit Lakes, MN, headquarters. Overview

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8a-5p; 40-45 hours per week Responsibilities

Safety + Environmental Compliance: Ensure and maintain compliance with all federal, state, city, and OSHA safety and environmental guidelines and regulations across all sites with the overall goal of preventing work-related injuries. Develop and maintain documentation of the company's safety procedures and programs, trainings, incidents and related events, and conduct annual review with site leadership. Develop and conduct safety trainings; maintain safety training files & certification calendar and ensure training compliance occurs in a timely fashion for affected employees. Participate in safety compliance evaluations, ergonomic assessments, and safe installation of new capital investments (buildings and equipment) as necessary. Maintain calendar for federal, state or local license renewal requirements (stormwater SWPPP, spill control and prevention, hazardous waste, wastewater, and others if applicable). Maintain appropriate disposal records (hazardous waste, recycling, etc.). Work with external safety agencies such as OSHA, fire, and work comp insurance personnel. Track and investigate safety incidents with supporting metrics; ensure root cause analysis conducted by appropriate leaders after significant incidents within 48 hours for future prevention and corrective actions plans if necessary. Maintain OSHA 300 logs for each manufacturing site and ensure annual postings are completed. Develop relationships with local medical providers for workplace injuries requiring medical attention. Maintain restricted duty task guide for medical providers to ensure return-to-work authorizations minimize WC claim exposure. Case manages work comp claims and serve as the liaison between medical provider, injured employee, and work comp insurance provider as necessary. Report work comp claim costs and status updates as necessary to management. Culture of Safety

Spearhead safety culture, developing and leading initiatives to boost morale and support a total zero mentality across all sites. Manage Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) library; create, coordinate, and audit JHAs annually or whenever program changes are necessary. Develop and manage safety emergency response training and teams. Develop toolbox talks, one-point lessons, etc., to be used at team/shift start/managerial meetings. Champion the employee-led Safety Committee; recruiting members, coordinating regular meetings, and guiding the execution of safety-related initiatives for each area. Maintain safety awareness programs - bulletin boards, support 6S, and develop safety-focused continuous improvement items. Purchase safety equipment and manage inventory and distribution. Work with team members to develop safety promotional/information materials. Coordinate company safety events: Blood Drive, Flu Shots, etc. Other duties as assigned What you bring to the table

Associates or bachelor's degree in environmental health or safety related field preferred In-depth knowledge with prior experience working with safety & OSHA standards required Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal including public speaking and presentation High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, adaptable to change and shifts in daily priorities Ability to maintain the highly confidential nature of Human Resources work Ability to work with a broad range of personalities and styles and consistently foster teamwork Highly organized and timeline driven Demonstrates resourcefulness and initiative Ability to make effective priority decisions Ability to work independently, with capability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner Must be detail-oriented Must be able to handle multiple interruptions and follow through Must be willing to travel to multiple locations as needed Why Lakeshirts | Blue 84
