Administrative Responsibilities: In conjunction with the Lead Teacher, develop and monitor child education binders for each child and ensure confidentiality. Complete all required program documentation and submit it to the Lead Teacher in a timely manner. Participate in recruitment efforts to maintain full program enrollment. Monitor and ensure daily attendance, health checks, parent sign/scan-in, and meal participation reports. Read and respond to Outlook emails daily. Child Development: Observe, assess and document each child’s growth and development with a minimum of two entries per child per week (three entries per child with an IFSP/IEP). Adhere to all IEP, IFSP, and IHP implementation plans and strategies. Provide opportunities for children to develop positive self-images and success. Set goals with parents and reflect them in the children’s individual plans. Participate in Family/Child Reviews. Identify developmental concerns and follow agency protocol. Curriculum and Assessment: Plan and implement developmentally appropriate experiences to promote social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development and school readiness. Develop lesson plans with goals and outcomes. Use standardized and authentic assessment data to create learning opportunities. Maintain observation, technology, and individualization skills for assessment and lesson planning, including completing all assigned TSG modules and trainings. Ensure a classroom environment supports appropriate guidance and discipline per Educare’s philosophy, curriculum, policies and procedures, Head Start standards, Ounce standards of conduct, and state regulations. Classroom Environment: Manage the classroom during the Lead Teacher’s absence. Ensure all children are supervised and no child is left unattended. In the absence of the Lead Teacher, perform and delegate duties as needed. Maintain a classroom environment reflecting the use of “New Beginnings” and ITERS or ECERS guidelines. Take responsibility for the classroom in the Lead Teacher’s absence. Parent Involvement: Schedule and conduct Parent/Staff conferences and home visits as assigned. Encourage parent participation in the program, including events, conferences, and volunteering. Plan and implement three classroom meetings. Maintain professional boundaries in daily conversations with families. Develop positive partnerships with families using the Touchpoints Approach (when trained). Compliance and Duties: Follow all federal, state, and local regulations, and agency policies. Attend required meetings and trainings, participate in reflective supervision, and perform other duties as assigned. Administer medications as needed (e.g., Nebulizer, Epipen). Qualifications

Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or Child Development (CD), or sixty (60) college semester hours with at least 15 hours in ECE/CD, or an unrelated degree with a current Preschool CDA. Gateways Level 4 ECE Credential for Early Head Start is required upon hire. Minimum one year of experience in an Early Childhood or Childcare Program. 20 hours of annual continuing education. CPR and First Aid certification, and Food Handlers certification. Additional training requirements include Mandated Reporter, Health and Safety Basics, Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, and Shaken Baby Syndrome. Maintain required certifications and continuing education. Knowledge of and ability to implement Early Head Start/Head Start or other developmental child care programs, and child development and early childhood principles, practices and curricula for the specific age group. Ability to stay updated on ongoing developments in the child care field. Ability to work in a program located in a high-risk, low-income community and to work a flexible schedule between 7:00am – 6:00pm. Ability to exercise discretion in handling confidential information and materials. Deep commitment to advancing diversity and incorporating it into interpersonal routines and practice. $40,575.00 - $41,535.00 per year Benefits
