Overview
The Operations Finance Manager will be a key resource to Finance and Operations. The role will focus on financial costing & analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and inventory processes and procedures. This position will require a strong knowledge base in inventory costing, variance analysis, seeking out process / procedural improvements, and exhibit outstanding interpersonal skills. This role is essential in building a strong resource for innovative product costing analysis, variance analysis, and robust policies and procedures at Daisy Brand. Major activities to ensure achievement of key results and deliverables
Financial Costing & Operations Analysis Manage the BOM and standards maintenance and evaluation based on corporate policies and production processes Partner with operations to manage the bill of materials and product scrap factors Responsible for month end close processes to ensure inventory cost is accurate and timely Provide meaningful insights into purchase prices, variances and trends Develop and manage daily soft close processes to provide further visibility into operations and conversion costs Understand and maintain inventory costing methodology and conversion cost drivers and recommend changes as needed Analyze inventory losses and understand their root cause Partner with the Operations team to ensure objectives are achieved Budgeting & Forecasting Lead the annual Operations expense budgeting and forecasting processes Develop and manage budgeting for raw material expenses Aid in the maintenance of data loaded into ERP system and support expansion of software capabilities Inventory Processes & Procedures Responsible for documenting internal controls, policies and procedures for inventory Develop and monitor the validation that policies and procedures are being followed Build strong knowledge on Microsoft D365 framework and needed data tangents to MES and CMMS Management Develop and mentor Finance team members to ensure continuous learning and skill development Create a positive and engaging work environment Assist with setting and tracking progress of annual team goals and objectives Ad-hoc Analysis Provide reporting and data based on organizational needs as they pertain to the cost of inventory and cost of goods sold Provide assistance to Operations and Engineering as needed in order to provide insights to make business decisions Key results and deliverables (what does success look like) Become subject matter expert of inventory/costing function with a deep understanding of the manufacturing process to deliver timely and accurate financial results Establish strong working relationships with Operations, Engineering and cross functional departments Committed to investing time to assist in the growth and development of others Proactively provide analysis and insight into monthly results Perform administration, maintenance and input into the inventory function independently and accurately Consistent and effective approach to managing responsibilities Self-starter who can work independently while managing several tasks and/or projects contemporaneously Constantly strive for innovation and continuous improvement Knowledge, Skills and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited college is required Minimum of 5 years of work experience in cost accounting with previous supervisory experience is required Experience in Microsoft Dynamics 365 is a plus Experience with PowerBI and Power Automate are a plus Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel to include pivot tables, if/and/or statements, nested formulas Office Scripts, VBA and macros are a plus Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interact with all levels of management Strong organizational and analytical skills Minimal out of state travel required for physical inventory observations, budget planning and relationship building A hybrid work environment will split time between working remote, the corporate office, and occasional visits to the local manufacturing plant (Garland, TX) Company Overview For five generations spanning over a century, Daisy Brand has been a family-owned company committed to providing the freshest, most wholesome dairy products.
