Finance | Financial Information Management | Business Support & Financial Markets – Associate | New York About ING: In Americas, ING’s Wholesale Banking division offers a broad range of innovative financial products and services to domestic and international corporate and institutional clients. ING Americas follows a hybrid work model, allowing in-office / work from home flexibility. Hybrid work arrangements vary based on business area. The team is looking for a Finance Business Partner for Financial Markets to monitor the financial targets and help guide the business in achieving the overall commercial strategy. There will be constant communication with senior leaders and traders, while also interacting with teams supporting the trading platform in the business support areas (e.g., Risk, COO). There will be opportunities to communicate key messages, bring forth new initiatives/strategic plans, and utilize independent and creative thinking. There will also be opportunities to interact within the global network to build strong relationships across the Financial Markets network. From time to time, the role will involve additional responsibilities related to the broader management reporting landscape. About The Department: The main responsibility for Financial Information Management is to support ING’s management with financial insights and related advice. Management Advice has a significant impact on the financial steering of the Americas business and needs to ensure that the advice provided is based on reliable financial information, focusing on actuals vs. Dynamic Plan (budget) and KPIs related to balance sheet, income statement, headcount for all front office products and business support. The team also handles product control for Lending, Capital Markets & Advisory and Transaction Services, while monitoring all costs for the region. The team operates as a first line of defense in close cooperation with colleagues from various business lines including finance, business, legal, risk and compliance.
Responsibilities
Acting as a business partner on the Financial Markets platform, with ongoing engagement with FM Management, FM trading desks, Finance and other support teams (CRO, COO, IT) Monitoring KPIs, analyzing data, and identifying areas for improvement Prepare reports and presentations on trading performance, market trends, and business development activities Preparation and analysis of the financial results; understanding categorical income, expenses and balance sheet developments Prepare quarterly forecasting (reviewed monthly) in line with FM business leaders and recent performance Dynamic Planning (budget) in line with global targets and local initiatives Continued development and refinement of financial reporting based on in-depth knowledge of business needs (actuals/rolling forecast) Present ongoing business performance to stakeholders, including: Product monitoring and developments Ad-hoc analysis and analytical reviews Support and measurement of key strategic initiatives Share insights and challenge existing performance Collaboration on new business development proposals Liaising with local Regulatory team to ensure alignment with best practices and regulatory changes
Qualifications And Competencies
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or related fields 3+ years of relevant product control or reporting experience (e.g., risk management) Deep understanding of financial markets, trading strategies, and relevant regulations (Banks, Broker Dealer and Swap Dealer) Series 7, 63, or 99 preferred Ability to identify and resolve complex trading challenges Ability to track and analyze KPIs to assess effectiveness of trading strategies Analytical and independent thinking Strong stakeholder management skills Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines Understanding of financial statements, budgeting, and financial analysis Detail oriented and self-organized Take it on and make it happen mindset Clear and accurate communication, both written and verbal Strong skills in Excel, PowerPoint, and other software (PowerBI, Python)
Benefits & Compensation
