Accounting Manager-Fixed Asset & Projects Accounting Manager
to lead the accounting and reporting for all fixed assets and capital projects. This role ensures accuracy and timeliness in processing and reconciling capital spend while partnering closely with our construction and development teams. You’ll be a key player in tracking project budgets, monitoring completion costs, and ensuring proper capitalization, useful life setup, and depreciation of assets. What You’ll Do Oversee the reconciliation of the project cost accounting system to the general ledger each month. Partner with Project Managers to review budgets, costs-to-date, remaining budgets, and final project costs. Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team. Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities for capital project and fixed asset accounting. Research, apply, and document capitalization practices in compliance with US GAAP and tax requirements. Prepare audit and tax documentation and respond to auditor requests as needed. Collaborate with development and construction teams to ensure accurate capitalization and expense treatment. Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and SOX controls related to fixed assets and capital projects. Deliver timely and insightful reporting and analysis to support management and business partners. What You Bring Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field (required). 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 3 years in fixed asset and project accounting/management (required). Experience leading and mentoring teams (required). Knowledge of US GAAP and tax rules related to fixed assets and construction projects. Strong collaboration, communication, prioritization, and conflict management skills. Experience with ERP/fixed asset systems and lease accounting in a multi-unit environment (preferred).
