Smith Challenger Manufacturing & Services, Inc. is seeking a Sr. Level Accountant to manage the overall accounting operations. Responsible for all financial reporting, budgeting, tax compliance, account reconciliations, and the optimization of processes to support data-driven decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee daily accounting functions, including accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), general ledger, payroll, and bank reconciliations. Oversee treasury management, cash flow, and banking relationships Lead the month-end and year-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate reporting Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reports Create annual budgets and monitor regularly with management Implement internal controls to maintain the security of financial data Implement financial strategies that align with organizational goals, including forecasting future financial performance Supervise and mentor accounting staff; provide coaching, training, and performance reviews Maintain and improve accounting systems, policies, and procedures Provide financial insights and support for business decision-making Assist with tax compliance issues (sales/use tax, 1099s, etc.) and coordinate with tax advisors Create and maintain custom NetSuite reports, dashboards, and KPI’s Collaborate with CPA on a variety of processes, such as annual tax return and fixed assets General Administration Responsibilities
Coordination with Management on annual renewals, such as company insurance policies, and state and local business filings Maintain Accounting files in Microsoft SharePoint and ensure that company, customer, and vendor confidential information is accurately stored Key Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA/MBA preferred) 5+ years of accounting experience with leadership responsibility Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls Experience in NetSuite ERP is preferred Must be proficient in the Microsoft Suite, including Word, Excel, and OneDrive Key Skills
Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills High level of initiative Must exhibit strong attention to detail and organizational skills Must maintain high ethical standards and confidentiality
