Overview

The Assurance Experienced Senior will coordinate day-to-day in-charge duties of planning, fieldwork, and wrap-up to include preparing financial statements with disclosures, applying GAAP as necessary, and documenting, validating, testing, and assessing internal control systems. This role may involve client contact for basic questions and information and may participate in reviews and agreed-upon procedures engagements. Job Duties / Responsibilities

Act as in-charge on the engagement, coordinating day-to-day planning, fieldwork, and wrap-up activities in accordance with timetable, Firm policies, and budget. Document, validate, and assess the effectiveness of internal control systems; communicate improvements to client internal controls and accounting procedures. Apply knowledge of transactional flows and key cycles to complete audit work. Supervise audit staff, review workpapers and conclusions, and explain findings to team members. GAAP

Apply understanding of governing principles and their application to client transactions; document and communicate these principles and disclosures to clients. Identify and apply new pronouncements; discuss alternative GAAPs when necessary with Manager, Senior Manager, and Engagement Partner. Identify complex accounting issues and bring them to superiors for resolution. SEC and PCAOB

Understand SEC regulations and PCAOB guidelines; document and communicate their application. Review client SEC filings for accuracy and completeness and ensure financial information is supported in workpapers and tested. Prepare communications to the client and the Audit Committee. Plan and execute Section 404 internal control audits, including understanding the control environment and testing deficiencies. GAAS

Apply professional standards and document understanding and application of GAAS on engagements. Formulate and communicate the audit plan; apply skepticism and determine testing scope; use appropriate audit manuals when applicable. Identify opportunities to improve client internal controls and draft communications as required by professional standards. Methodology

Apply BDO standards and audit approach to deliver quality services using tools and technology; manage deadlines and resources effectively. Research

Use internal and external research tools; document complex findings and form initial opinions on correct treatments, considering impact on the client and engagement. Project Management

Coordinate planning, fieldwork, and review timing with audit team and client; assist in developing budgets and assigning resources; monitor budget versus actuals. Supervisory Responsibilities

Supervise a team of audit professionals (1–5 members); provide performance feedback and coach associates. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Statistics, required; or Bachelor’s in another field with CPA; Master’s in Accountancy preferred. Three (3) or more years of prior relevant audit experience; supervisory experience preferred. Eligible to sit for the CPA exams; actively pursuing completion of the exams (required for this role); CPA certification preferred. Proficient with Microsoft Office; experience with assurance applications and research tools preferred. Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to lead client communications and audit teams. About Us
