Manager Tool & Die Making 1
to join our Production organization. This leadership role is onsite in
Iuka, MS . We offer flexible work arrangements, a 9/80 schedule with every other Friday off, learning opportunities, exposure to a variety of projects and customers, and a friendly team environment. Responsibilities and qualifications below reflect the role as presented in the job description. Responsibilities
Has overall responsibility for execution of safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives, along with employee engagement for the Quality Assurance laser tracker inspection team. Strong focus on safe work environment, Zero Defects, and continuous improvement activities. Manages both the strategic and short-term tactical activities of the work area. Optimizes inspection flow and production rates to meet customer demands, improve inventory turns and drive month over month cost improvement. Responsible for proactive resource management to mitigate production schedule risks. Support a work environment characterized by employee involvement and participative management to encourage the highest level of employee commitment and cooperation. Manage inspection team staffing levels to support customer requirements while maintaining efficient operations. Promptly responds to technical issues on the production floor using work instructions, design documents, and specifications. Basic Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent GED and a minimum of 4 years of manufacturing experience Minimum of 3 years of metrology experience Strong technical skills related to computer aided metrology systems (e.g., laser trackers, articulated arms) Experience with Spatial Analysis, Polyworks or Verisurf Software Technical strengths in composite processing, operations, and inspection Familiarity with standard mechanical inspection techniques and tools Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance and special program access clearance within a reasonable time Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree Active (In-scope) DoD Secret security clearance (last investigated within 5 ½ years) MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint proficiency Ability to verify, update, and flow down department procedures for technical adequacy Ability to conduct laser tracker inspections for part acceptance and document results Strong coursework in Math (Geometry & Trigonometry) and familiarity with GO&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) Experience in assembly tooling and/or inspection requirements of composite parts/materials Ability to communicate with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Assurance, and Tool Design to interpret and advise on inspection results Strong interpersonal skills and excellent communication abilities Self-starter able to drive issues to closure Preference for individuals with access to Special Access Programs Compensation and Benefits
Base pay range:
$87,800.00/yr - $131,600.00/yr Primary level salary range reflects general guidelines; actual offers depend on scope, responsibilities, candidate experience, education, skills, and market conditions. Overtime, shift differential, discretionary bonuses, and potential long-term incentives may apply. Northrop Grumman offers health and life insurance, savings plans, paid holidays, and PTO.
