HERE’S WHAT SUCCESS COULD LOOK LIKE IN YOUR FIRST YEAR: Within the first 30 days: Schedule meetings, lunches and one-on-ones to get to know all staff, and team members to build rapport and learn Cutler’s brand, client base, processes, procedures, & team structure. Immediately begin analyzing prospective portfolios, identifies key differences and opportunities, tracks market trends, and delivers timely investment insights to support advisor conversations and marketing efforts. Train on Cutler’s trading systems to build a strong foundation for portfolio management, while supporting select client relationships where investment expertise adds value. Within the next 3 months and ongoing: Demonstrate full ownership of all responsibilities, proactively supporting Advisors with investment insights, aligning on client goals, and reinforcing Cutler’s credibility through consistent, collaborative communication. Bring immediate value by offering informed investment perspectives, collaborate with the CIO on research and security selection, support pension plan clients, and build credibility as a trusted investment professional and emerging team leader. Play a key role in shaping investment strategy by contributing to research, security selection, and high-level decision-making with the CIO and senior leadership. Within the next 6 months and ongoing: Demonstrate a strong passion for investment and career growth by deepening knowledge of Cutler’s philosophies, mastering portfolio construction and risk management. Actively contribute to internal committees, client initiatives, and cross-functional efforts, while bringing structured investment training and fresh ideas that strengthen the team’s depth and reinforce a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. Deepen partnerships with Advisors through tailored communication, actively expands the role by building strong internal and external networks, and engages in firmwide strategy and training sessions to stay aligned and sharpen skills. Within the next 12 months and ongoing: Engage in early conversations about expanding responsibilities while contributing to the refinement of portfolio management models and embracing a mindset of continuous improvement aligned with Cutler’s strategic goals. Is recognized as a trusted, integral member of the investment team, demonstrates the autonomy expected of a Portfolio Manager, and engages in performance reviews with the CIO to identify growth opportunities and set a path toward future leadership roles within the firm. Education, Skills & Experience
5+ years of relevant experience in investment research, portfolio management, or a related role in wealth management, asset management, or financial advisory required Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, accounting, business administration, mathematics, or statistics, or related field required Experience working with high-net-worth individual or institutional clients required Demonstrated strong foundational knowledge of active management, portfolio strategy, and investment fundamentals required Skilled in portfolio construction, asset allocation, risk management, and security selection required Proficiency in finance analysis software and modeling tools with an ability to interpret complex financial data and provide strategic recommendations required Demonstrated presentation creation and networking with strong communication and interpersonal skills with colleagues and clients required CFA designation preferred (or willingness to acquire) Compensation & Benefits
The compensation range is $125,000-$225,000 annually, commensurate with experience level skillset, and willingness to consider variable compensation as part of your support of the team's efforts.
