Overview

The Museum of Modern Art is accepting applications for a full-time Museum Store Sales Associate located in the Museum on West 53rd Street between 5th and 6th Avenues. The Sales Associate reports to Store Managers and Supervisors and is expected to deliver knowledgeable, thoughtful and inspiring customer service, support the store's sales and metric goals, uphold MoMA standards and Retail policies, and proactively connect with the Museum to support a holistic visitor experience. Responsibilities

Provide G.R.E.A.T customer service (Greet. Relate. Engage. Thank). Proactively engage with customers on a regular basis. Maintain a professional and positive presence on the sales floor. Perform register transactions, including sales, memberships, email capture, and gift wrap. Respond to customer inquiries and assist in making selections. Maintain a high level of Museum and product-related knowledge. Execute daily stock maintenance to ensure merchandise and fixtures are signed, displayed, lit, and clean. Participate in physical inventory. Open and close cash registers and be accountable for discrepancies noted by a manager. Comply with all zoning and scheduling requirements. Participate in MoMA Design Store, Museum, and vendor trainings. Advise the Assistant Store Manager, Operations of out-of-stock merchandise and inventory discrepancies. Visit the Museum regularly to stay informed about current exhibitions and gallery rotations. Attend product, vendor and customer service training; participate in available advanced education opportunities; attend staff meetings. Perform any other duties reasonably related to the functions described above. Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum one year in retail sales. Commitment to delivering a high level of customer service. Strong verbal, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to perform physical tasks as needed. Interest in design, books, art, and architecture is desirable. Fluency in languages other than English is a plus. Proficiency with POS, email, and Inventory Management Systems. Salary

The salary for this position is $26.59 per hour. Application instructions
