We are seeking a Sr. Payroll Manager to lead end-to-end payroll operations, ensuring accurate, timely and compliant payroll for a multi-country / multi-state workforce. You will lead a high-performing team, manage day-to-day operations, and partner cross-functionally with HR, Finance and Benefits to drive payroll transformation, continuous improvement and systems improvement.

Responsibilities Payroll Operations Management

Lead end-to-end payroll processing for salaried and hourly employees across U.S. (multi-state) and Canada

Oversee international payroll and vendor relationships

Oversee calculations for bonuses, commissions, shift differentials, overtime, retro pay, severance, and equity/stock compensation

Manage payroll tax registrations, filings, reconciliations, and year-end processing (W-2, W-2c, 1099, 941/940); coordinate with tax agencies and vendors

Own payroll calendar, close timeline, and SLAs; ensure accuracy and on-time execution for all pay cycles

Partner with Accounting on payroll GL, journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and month/quarter/year-end close

Oversee integrations with HRIS, time and attendance, and benefits systems; ensure data integrity and change controls

Lead payroll system configuration, enhancements, and upgrades; evaluate and manage third-party vendors

Develop and maintain payroll policies, SOPs, and documentation, train stakeholders and team members

Serve as an escalation point for complex employee inquiries with a high level of confidentiality and customer service

Support M&A activities, onboarding/off boarding, and complex case resolution (multi-state tax, expatriates, executives)

Compliance & Risk Management

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (FLSA, FICA, FUTA, SUTA, wage and hour, garnishments, PTO/sick leave laws)

Implement and maintain strong internal controls and SOX-compliant processes; lead internal and external payroll audits

Ensure SOX and audit requirements remain effective following system, vendor and/or organizational changes.

Reporting & Analytics

Deliver payroll metrics and analytics (cost, errors, off-cycles, overtime, head count trends)

Systems & Process Improvement

Oversee integrations with HRIS, time and attendance, and benefits systems; ensure data integrity and change controls

Lead payroll system configuration, enhancements, and upgrades; evaluate and manage third-party vendors

Payroll Transformation & Project Leadership

Partner with Sr. Director, HR Shared Services to develop multi-year payroll transformation roadmap: assess current state, define future state operating model to include AI, and prioritize a portfolio of initiatives.

Lead full life cycle payroll / HRIS implementations and upgrades: vendor selection, design / configuration, data conversion, SIT/UAT, parallel runs, cutover, hyper care

Build business cases and quantify ROI; deliver measurable improvements in KPIs (first-pass accuracy, cycle time, off cycles, tax notices, cost per pay slip, etc.)

Lead organizational change management: assessments, SOP updates, knowledge base, and communications

Optimize payroll operating model (shared services / COE, service catalog, SLAs and escalations).

Team Leadership & Development

Mentor and manage a team of payroll professionals; set goals, coach performance, and support career growth.

Sponsor professional certifications (CPP/FPC) and continuous education on tax, equity, garnishments, Canada and multi-state topics.

Capacity and workload management: monitor case queues and cycle peaks; forecast workload; manage overtime strategically; cross-train team to ensure

Minimum Requirements

10-15+ years of progressive payroll experience, including 5+ years in a supervisory/management role

3+ years leading large payroll transformation projects (implementations, upgrades, or operating model redesign)

Expert knowledge of US and Canada payroll laws and tax regulations; multi-state payroll required; global payroll

Hands-on experience with major payroll/HRIS platforms (e.g., ADP, Workday) and timekeeping systems (e.g., Kronos, Workday)

Strong project/program management skills: road mapping, governance, risk/issue management, and stakeholder communications

Experience with automation and integrations, data migration, testing, and cutover/hyper care

Working knowledge of payroll accounting and GL impact

Proven track record of process optimization and control design/maintenance

Strong Excel and data analysis skills (pivot tables, lookups, data validation)

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Preferred Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, HR or related field

Excellent team player dedicated to the department's success

Proactive team player with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Self-motivated and possess strong organizational, collaboration and critical thinking skills

Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines, and adapt quickly to evolving payroll compliance requirements.

FPC or CPP designation preferred

Compensation & Benefits TTM offers a variety of health and well-being benefit programs. Benefits are available on the 1st of the month following date of hire. For some positions, only PTO and holiday benefits are offered.

Compensation ranges for roles at TTM Technologies varies depending on a wide array of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At TTM Technologies, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on each individual set of circumstances. A reasonable estimate of the current range is:

$115,784 - $203,619

Additional compensation: An annual or quarterly company bonus may apply based on position assignment. Positions hired for alternative shift may be eligible for a shift premium based on the assigned shift and location.
