Overview
Davis Wright Tremaine LLP is seeking an experienced paralegal for engagement through the firm's alternative-track contract attorney and staffing program, DWTSurge. The selected paralegal will work with the firm's Litigation practice to support the firm's large technology client with high volume finance matters. The selected paralegal may work remotely but should be prepared to support West Coast business hours. Responsibilities
Assist attorneys and the marquee client's funds team by handling a large volume of garnishments, levies, and lien responses. Review garnishment summons, evaluate liens, monitor payment obligations, draft responses, and take appropriate actions using client tools. Oversee projects by tracking deadlines, summarizing agreements or data, conducting due diligence reviews, and creating and maintaining document storage sites. Qualifications
4+ years of paralegal experience at a mid-sized or large law firm and/or with large institutional clients specializing in finance or technology. Bachelor’s degree and completion of paralegal program of study, or clear demonstration of equivalent knowledge and skill in accordance with state requirements. Demonstrated experience and understanding of writs of garnishment, levies, and liens. A strong interest in working with global technology clients. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) for document creation/editing. Proficiency in electronic signature applications (e.g. DocuSign) and document retention databases (e.g. Google Docs, Dropbox, and other proprietary virtual data rooms). Residency in AK, AZ, CA, CT, FL, GA, IN, KS, MD, MN, MT, NJ, NM, NY, OK, OR, PA, TN, TX, VA, WA, or WDC. Ability to adapt to new technologies and client communication methods. Ability to follow work directions, manage multiple priorities, and respond to urgent requests with minimal supervision. Availability to work remotely, full time hours (37.5 per week), and support PST business hours. Excellent proactive communication and interpersonal skills, with clients, firm members, and other business contacts. Exceptional client service skills and ability to handle stressful situations calmly. Excellent writing skills, strong attention to detail, and strong time and task management. Position Details
This contract position offers remote work and is expected to be full time, averaging 37.5 hours per week. The engagement is for an initial 6-month term with a strong possibility of renewal. We are looking for paralegals interested in establishing a long-term working relationship with DWT on an exclusive basis. Compensation & Benefits
Salary Range:
The hourly compensation range for this position in CA, MD, MN, NY, OR, WA, and WDC is $30-45 per hour. Actual pay will be adjusted based on the candidate's education, training, experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
