Prosecute Violent Crime Cases: Handle cases involving homicides, armed robberies, assaults, and other serious offenses in district and superior courts. Lead or Co-counsel in high-profile and complex cases, ensuring thorough preparation and strategic advocacy. Collaborate with Law Enforcement: Work closely with detectives, crime scene investigators, and forensic specialists to gather evidence, review investigative reports, and strengthen case strategies; provide legal guidance during investigations, including advice on search warrants and charging decisions. Engage with Victims and Families: Partner with victim advocates to provide support and clear communication to victims and their families; address concerns, answer questions, and prepare victims and witnesses for court appearances with sensitivity. Lead Courtroom Advocacy: Draft and argue motions, conduct witness examinations, and present opening and closing arguments; respond to defense motions and objections with confidence and legal precision. Advance Community Safety: Participate in initiatives and programs focused on reducing violent crime and preventing recidivism in collaboration with law enforcement and community organizations. Qualifications

Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school and an active license to practice law in North Carolina. Knowledge of federal, state, common, and constitutional law; rules of evidence; NC General Statutes; judicial procedures; and ethical standards. Skills in interpreting and applying complex criminal laws, interviewing witnesses, legal research, negotiating plea agreements, organizing work, meeting deadlines, and working with minimal direction. Ability to analyze facts and apply law, develop litigation strategies, conduct witness examinations, deliver persuasive statements, and maintain cooperative relationships with attorneys, law enforcement, and other participants in the criminal justice process.
