Join the State of Florida as a Senior Attorney. The mission of the Florida Department of Transportation is to provide a safe statewide transportation system that promotes the efficient movement of people and goods, supports the state’s economic competitiveness, prioritizes Florida’s environment and natural resources, and preserves the quality of life and connectedness of the state’s communities. The attorney in this position represents the Department in all phases of administrative proceedings under Chapter 120, Florida Statutes, including bid protest litigation and other legal proceedings. Representation includes pre- and post-hearing matters, discovery, pleadings, motion hearings, public meetings, negotiations, and settlement conferences. Responsibilities include: Represents the Department in all phases of administrative proceedings under Chapter 120, Florida Statutes. Reviews environmental documents, manuals, and policies for compliance with state and federal environmental statutes and regulations. Provides legal assistance and advice to Department offices, as assigned. Requirements include: Must be a member of The Florida Bar. Knowledge of litigation and civil rules of procedure and practice and Government In the Sunshine Law. Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. The State of Florida offers a competitive salary range of $80,000.00 - $95,000.00 and a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, life insurance, dental and vision insurance, and retirement package.
