Four Day Work Week: Two (2) days in office, two (2) days remote. However, there may be certain circumstances, like pressing deadlines or peak business periods, where it becomes necessary for the organization to temporarily switch to a five-day work week. What You’ll Do

The Legislative Advocacy Coordinator role supports EnviroVoters’ advocacy efforts to advance climate justice and democracy priorities in the California State Legislature. Responsibilities include: Track and analyze legislation. Write position letters for legislation. Support the legislative team with identifying key targets in the legislature. Draft communications messaging around legislative priorities with other staff. Participate in, and at times lead, legislative advocacy meetings related to EnviroVoters and EnviroVoters Education Fund priorities. Serve as lobby lead for some legislative priorities. Develop relationships with legislators and Capitol staff to advance environmental justice. Lead and organize the Green California program and its network of over 130 organizations; organize regular network meetings. Organize the annual Green California Advocacy Day (coordination with event planning staff, scheduling meetings, assembling materials, arranging receptions, and planning logistics). Solicit Green California membership dues and event sponsorships. Identify areas for strategic improvements to maximize network meetings and events. Represent EnviroVoters in coalitions and build strategic alliances. Develop understanding of environmental, environmental justice, and good government policies; identify opportunities to act or lead. Innovation in advocacy, engagement, and coalition-building. Regularly update staff on timely information related to legislative priorities. Other responsibilities as assigned. Must Haves

Interest in building a career in climate advocacy. Excellent writing and editing skills. Experience organizing coalition meetings and events. Strong relationship cultivation, communication, networking, and interpersonal skills. Independent judgment and decision making. Ability to work in a fast-paced political environment; professional, focused, and solutions-oriented. Demonstrated initiative and leadership skills. Ability to manage multiple deadline-driven projects. Detail-oriented and meticulously organized. Commitment to racial, social, economic justice and equity.
